  • Wash and boil Dal Mash in a pan instead of a pressure cooker. 
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and fry cumin, cloves, and bay leaves for 1 minute.
  • Then add spices, mix well, and cook for 1 more minute.
  • Add onion & garlic and fry until they become golden.
  • Add tomato and water splash and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Add the cooked dal mash and the cooking liquid, stir well and simmer until the dal achieves the desired consistency.
  • Add fresh, leafy coriander as a garnish.
